Do You Read The Terms Before You Join A Site?

This is a very good question, and something we all need to do. I think this is something a lot of us are guilty of not doing. Is it we just didn't feel like it, didn't have the time or just thought it was not important. If you are a person who does read all the terms than I want to congratulate you for a job well done.
Every site has a Terms Page, usually you can find it at the bottom of the page or along a Menu Bar. If you don't see the link ask the owner or admin.
This is a legal document.
Once you are a member of a site you agree to accept and be bound by the terms and conditions concerning your use of the site.
We need to realize that the owner of a site make the terms for many good reasons.
They are to help you understand what you can and can not do, to protect the owner of the site from legal issues and to protect it's members just to name a few.
The terms often explain how you will earn and be paid along with info on:
Member Account Policy, Advertising Terms, Spam, Cheating Policy, False Representing, etc.
You need to understand this before ever making a compliant.
If anyone mistakenly uses information for the wrong purposes, or wants to hold the owner liable they better make sure they read all the terms of the site before pursuing the matter.
If you find something in the terms that you do not understand look in the Help Section or send a support ticket to the Admin.
I am going to use information that I have found on a few Paid-To-Click site as an example.
Each site sets it's own payout terms that you must understand.
Examples:
You Must be an ACTIVE member to request payout.
You must manually request payment to be processed.
Payment will automatically be made unless requested otherwise.
You must accumulate at least $5.00 before payment will be issued.
You must be a paid members.
And so on, they are all different you just need to read!

Some PTC are profit sharing traffic exchange. This means that 100 percent of the sites profits are returned to the members each month.
Explanation:
Payouts are based on the income that the site makes each month. Account earnings are not actual earnings, they are simply a basis to decide what you've earned, depending upon what the site makes. Once a payout request is made, it will be recalculated based on the current value of a dollar at the time of that payout. All payouts start on the 15th and take roughly two weeks for all payments to be made. Members will not be paid early, it takes time to calculate everyones earnings. The payout rate per click will probably be less then 1 cent per click and it changes each month.

To sum this up, you are not going to get paid all that is stated in your account balance.
So don't expect it or complain about it.

Others are actually Pay-Per-Click, so you will get the full amount that is in your account balance. Unless stated differently.
Examples:
You must earn the minimum in PTC ,This excludes game earnings and paid mails.
Promos/contests are for offer earnings only.

Each site offers you different ways to get paid with the most popular being Pay Pal and Alert Pay.
You must have an open online payment account to get paid. A few will also pay by check.
Some will pay instantly while other work on a Net Basis.

Example:
Note-I'm just using 30 as an example, it may be what ever the owner choses.
Net 30 is a term that most business and municipalities (federal, state and local) use. Legally speaking Net 30 means that buyer will pay seller in full on or before the 30th calendar day (including weekends and holidays) of when the Goods were dispatched by the Seller or the Services were fully provided. Transit time is included when counting the days, i.e. a purchase in transit for 7 days before receipt has just 23 additional days until payment is due to the seller. Net 30 payment terms typically have an interest penalty for not meeting these terms and they begin accruing on the 31st day after dispatch.

So when requesting a payout make sure you read and understand all the terms.

Earning online can be fun and profitable if we all just learn to follow the rules!

I do, ALWAYS read the t&cs - and as a result I actually join veryyyyyyy few programs lol.

It is my opinion that time spent reading the small print is rarely time wasted. Not only do you avoid any unexpected problems, or at least limit them, but you also have a full understanding.

It always irritates me when people have not took the time to learn the ins and outs of something, but right away they are spewing links all over the place getting other people in, I feel this is irresponsible, and a great way to burn contacts.

Nice post Cat :-)
